AVONDALE, La. – The San Diego State women’s golf team kicked off the 2026-27 season at the Tulane Classic outside of New Orleans on Tuesday. After two rounds, the Aztecs are in fifth place (out of 12 teams) with newcomer Amelia Garibaldi tied for the individual lead with a two-under-par 142.

Garibaldi, who is in her first season with the Aztecs after three seasons at Fresno State, made quite the impression in her first tournament with SDSU, firing a two-under-par 70 in her first round as an Aztec. She carded four birdies, including four in her last 11 holes. She then shot an even par 72 in the second round and is tied with Southern Mississippi’s Louise Cuyvers for the lead.

Emilia Nordström, who was also making her SDSU debut, finished second among Aztecs with a four-over-par 148, good for a tie for 13th place. She had a one-over-par 73 in the opening round that featured three birdies and then shot a three-over-par 75 in the second 18.

Ema Narita, SDSU’s top returner, rebounded from an opening round 78 to shoot a three-over-par 75 in the second round. After 36 holes, she is tied for 32nd place.

Kylie Warner sits one stroke behind Narita and is ten-over-par through two rounds.

Fia Lindblom finished outside the scoring with a 16-over-par 180. She had an opening round 81 and then a 79 in the second round.

Emilia Omander, who was playing as an individual, shot a 17-over-par and is tied for 58th place
