SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s golf team kicks off the 2026-27 season on Tuesday when they play in the Tulane Classic at TPC of Louisiana outside of New Orleans.
The field features 13 schools and the Aztecs are the only West Coast school in the tournament. The field consists of Georgia State, Howard, Jackson State, Lamar, Loyola, LSU, Samford, San Diego State, Southern Miss, Southern, Tarleton, Tulane (host) and West Florida. LSU (No. 14) is the only school in the Golf Channel’s preseason Top 40 rankings.
The Aztecs’ starting lineup will be Amelia Garibaldi, Ema Narita, Kylie Warner, Fia Lindblom and Emilia Nordström. Additionally, Emilia Omander will be competing as an individual.
Garibaldi (Fresno State), Lindblom (Texas State) and Nordström (Lee) came to SDSU in the offseason as transfers.
Garibaldi (Lodi, Calif.) was a three-year starter at Fresno State. Last year she led the Bulldogs with a career-best adjusted average of 73.9 and went 640-272-34.
Narita (Tokyo, Japan) made the All-Mountain West First Team last season and posted a 72.79 stroke average, the fourth lowest 18-hole average in program history.
Warner (Palmdale, Calif.) was limited to three tournaments last season due to injury. In 2024-25, she was North Dakota’s top golfer, leading the team in six of their eight tournaments.
Lindblom (Gothenburg, Sweden) had a 73.9 adjusted average and went 332-238-21 at Texas State last year and finished in the top-10 twice.
Nordström (Falsterbo, Sweden) was named to the All-Gulf South Conference (DII) First Team last season while at Lee University. She averaged 74.7 strokes per 18 holes and had three top-five finishes and five top-20 finishes.
Omander (Cologne, Germany) is in her third season with the Aztecs. She has appeared in 15 tournaments and improved her 18-hole average by nearly a whole stroke last season.
Teams will play 36 holes on Tuesday beginning with a 6 a.m. PT shotgun start. The final 18 holes will be played Wednesday, also beginning at 6 a.m. PT.
TPC Louisiana was designed by Pete Dye and plays as a par 72 and is 6,276 yards. It is in Avondale, La. and lies along the Mississippi River delta.
The forecast calls for cloudy skies with a chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms with temperatures reaching the mid-80s.
