SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s basketball team has released their non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season. Coming off a 27-win season, which tied a school record, the Aztecs will play a challenging non-conference slate that features five games against teams that made the postseason last year.
SDSU will play in two holiday tournaments (Hawai’i and West Palm Beach), and nine of their 15 non-conference games will be on the road or at neutral sites. This includes a stretch of eight straight games away from San Diego. In total, the Aztecs will play five teams that won at least 20 games (and another with 19 wins) and three teams that finished in the top 50 in last year’s NET rankings.
SDSU will open the season with four home games in a 10-day span, beginning with the season opener Nov. 2 against Cal State Fullerton. The Aztecs have beaten the Titans in 11 of their last 12 meetings.
The Aztecs have two more home games that week. First, they host North Texas Nov. 5 and then they welcome UTSA Nov. 8. The Mean Green went 19-14 last year and advanced to the American Tournament Semifinals while the Roadrunners won the American Tournament Championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
SDSU then hosts Colorado on Nov. 11. The Buffalos went 22-12 last season and made the NCAA Tournament as a No. 10 seed.
The Aztecs’ first road game will be Nov. 19 when they play at CSUN. The Aztecs beat the Matadors 91-79 inside Viejas Arena last season behind Kennedy Lee’s 24 points.
SDSU returns home for a Nov. 22 game against Winthrop. This will be the Aztecs’ first ever meeting with the Eagles.
The Aztecs will play in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown at the University of Hawai’i where they have three games in three days (Nov. 27-29). They begin the tournament against the host school Hawai’i, who won 22 games last year and made the Big West Championship game.
The following day SDSU takes on Stanford, who won 21 games and made the quarterfinals of the WBIT last season. Their final game in Hawai’i will be against Columbia who won 25 games and the WBIT championship a season ago.
The Aztecs then play a trio of games in Northern California, beginning with a Dec 3 game at Santa Clara. The Broncos won 24 games and made the WBIT a season ago.
The following week, SDSU will play at Saint Mary’s on Dec. 9 and at Pacific Dec. 11. This is the Aztecs first game against Saint Mary’s since 2007, and SDSU beat Pacific at home last season with four players scoring in double figures.
The Aztecs will play in the West Palm Beach Classic where they will face IU Indy Dec. 20 and Saint Louis Dec. 21. It will be the first time SDSU has faced either of these schools and the third time in the last five years the Aztecs have played in the West Palm Beach Classic. They went 3-1 in their previous two trips.
SDSU will wrap up non-conference play with a home game against Point Loma Dec. 29.
The Aztecs have seven returners, including four starters, from last year’s team that won the Mountain West regular season championship and tied a school record with 27 wins.
SDSU has set a program record for attendance in each of the last three years and season tickets are currently on sale.
