TUCSON, Ariz. – San Diego State men’s tennis competed in six matches at the Kinlen and Vivian Gee Wildcat Invite at the University of Arizona on Saturday. Brock Anderson and William Kleege grabbed a win in doubles play to highlight the Aztecs’ second day of competition.

Anderson and Kleege paired up against Lenny Haddad and Samuel Pohl out of UNLV. The Aztec duo came out on top of a narrow 8-6 decision, securing San Diego State’s first doubles win of the season.

Maxime Baur and Blake Anderson came up short 8-4 against UNLV’s Roberto Hernandez and Joel Gibson.

In singles competition, Blake Anderson battled to a 10-point tiebreaker against Pohl, but came up just short by a score of 7-2, 6-7 (7-9), [13-11]. Brock Anderson fell 6-4, 7-5 to NAU’s Jakub Jedrzejczak while Baur was tripped up 6-2, 6-4 by Connor Dils out of New Mexico.

Kleege’s singles match was left unfinished with the Aztec at a 1-0 disadvantage against Dils.

San Diego State will wrap up its first fall tournament with the final day of the Wildcat Invite on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. PT.
