Aztec Swim and Dive Announces 2026-27 Schedule
The San Diego State swim and dive program revealed its eagerly awaited 2026-27 schedule on Friday, as head coach Mike Shrader and the Aztecs embark on their inaugural season as Pac-12 members in pursuit of their sixth consecutive conference championship.

SDSU’s highly anticipated slate commences on Friday, Sept. 18, when the Scarlet and Black invades the University of San Diego for the annual pentathlon meet between the two programs. Two weeks later, the Aztecs will return to USD Sports Center to battle the Toreros in another crosstown clash on Friday, Oct. 2. Both competitions are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. PT.
San Diego State will hit the road for the next five team events, starting with a sprint meet against Pepperdine on Oct. 15 in Malibu, California, before proceeding north to the Central Valley for its annual appearance in the Fresno State Invitational, Oct. 16-17.
Following a three-week hiatus, the Aztecs will be back in action for the Rick Rowland Joust, Nov. 6-7, hosted by California Baptist at Lancer Aquatics Center in Riverside.
After another break of nearly two weeks, SDSU swimmers will return to St. George, Utah, looking to defend their team title at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational, Nov. 18-21. In 2025, the Aztecs took home the crown in their inaugural entry at the meet, highlighted by nine event titles and 22 top-three placements overall.
Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, San Diego State has competed in 20 regular-season invitational meets and have finished outside of the top three just once during that span, logging seven first-place performances, 10 second-place efforts and a pair of third-place results.
Meanwhile, Aztec divers will make the first of three excursions to Flagstaff, Arizona, that same weekend for the first edition of the Lumberjack Invitational, set for Nov. 19-21, at Northern Arizona University.
Just before the holiday break, SDSU will conduct its home opener on Dec. 18, when it plays host to Cal State Bakersfield at Aztec Aquaplex. The Scarlet and Black has captured all previous meetings against the Roadrunners, including a 189-90 triumph in 2012 at Fresno, California, the last time the two teams met.
After ringing in the New Year, a busy month awaits the Aztecs with nine meets in January, including seven at home.
SDSU welcomes Alaska Fairbanks, Colorado College, New Mexico and Puget Sound to “America’s Finest City” for a quad meet on Jan. 4, while Pepperdine and Utah Tech invade The Mesa four days later for a double dual on Jan. 8, featuring swimmers only.
Aztec swimmers will be afforded no rest, as Fresno State, Nevada and UC Santa Barbara pay a visit to the Aquaplex for the Aztec Invitational the next morning on Jan. 9. Later that afternoon, SDSU will remain on campus to face the same Fresno State squad in a head-to-head scrimmage.
Meanwhile, Aztec divers will also find themselves in the spotlight that same weekend when they compete at the Bruin Invitational, Jan. 8-10, on the campus of UCLA.
SDSU quickly jumps back in the pool on Jan. 12 when it battles Cal State East Bay and San Diego in another swim-only double dual at the Aquaplex. Four days later, the Aztecs will head to the Valley of the Sun with a full squad to face Grand Canyon and California Baptist in a double dual at Fr. Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
As the month draws to a close, Aztec divers will take center stage once again when they return to the Grand Canyon State for the second installment of the Lumberjack Invitational, Jan. 28-30.
For the fifth straight season, SDSU will travel to Houston, Texas, for a conference meet, with the revived Pac-12 Championships taking place Feb. 24-27 at the familiar CRWC Natatorium on the University of Houston campus. The Aztecs will square off against former Mountain West rivals Colorado State, Fresno State and Washington State, with California Baptist joining the new circuit as a swimming and diving affiliate.
In its final season as a Mountain West member in 2026, SDSU captured its fifth straight conference title and 10th since the 2010-11 campaign. The Aztecs’ tremendous depth was on display throughout the meet, as the Scarlet and Black recorded 36 placements in the championship finals, featuring two gold, seven silver and four bronze medals.
Postseason competition ramps up the following month when Aztec divers make yet another journey to Northern Arizona’s Wall Aquatic Center for the NCAA Zone E Championships, March 8-10, in Flagstaff.
Shortly thereafter, SDSU’s quest for national glory continues for select qualifiers, March 17-20, when the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships convene at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.
San Diego State returns 20 letterwinners in 2026-27, including the trio of Alli Mann (7), Alyssa Schiller (6) and Kaydence Bispo (5), who combined to earn 18 all-conference honors last season.
