SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State athletics announced Monday a landmark expansion of its multi-year partnership with Palomar Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLMR) (“Palomar”), bringing the San Diego-based specialty insurer’s logo to Aztec football jerseys. The expansion marks the first time a brand beyond an apparel partner will appear on Aztec uniforms, as Palomar supports SDSU Athletics at an exciting moment in program history.

The new jersey patches will debut on Saturday night for San Diego State’s game against Portland State at 6:30 p.m. PT at Snapdragon Stadium. The highly anticipated season opener will kick off a new chapter for SDSU football in its inaugural season in the Pac-12 Conference. Palomar will be part of this next chapter from the start, with its logo taking the field with the Aztecs on their signature home black-and-red uniforms.

“We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Palomar with the addition of a jersey patch for the upcoming football season,” said John David Wicker, Director of Athletics at SDSU. “It is an exciting time at San Diego State as we head into our first year in the Pac-12, and we are thankful for the continued support of a San Diego-based company that focuses on serving the local community.”

The expanded partnership builds on the original agreement announced in February 2026, when Palomar was named SDSU Athletics’ Official Specialty Insurance Partner and Official Volunteerism Partner. The partnership centers on community engagement, highlighted by Days of Service that bring SDSU’s more than 500 student-athletes together with peers from UC San Diego and USD to support local organizations addressing needs across the San Diego community.

The agreement was founded to create opportunities for cross-campus engagement and to empower student-athletes to drive a broader impact in San Diego alongside community service partners. As a San Diego-based company, Palomar’s expanded investment in SDSU Athletics reflects a continued commitment to the community it calls home, the people who shape its future, and a belief that impact happens by showing up for one another. Through this expansion, Palomar is again doing just this by powering the Aztecs as they enter this next chapter on the field of play and beyond.

“Palomar is both thrilled and honored to be the Aztecs' inaugural jersey patch partner,” said Mac Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of Palomar. “It is a natural extension of our identity as a San Diego-born company that has scaled into a national specialty insurance leader. We are excited to lock arms with the football program as it enters the Pac-12 and to bring the Palomar name to a wider stage right alongside the Aztecs.”

JMI Sports – the exclusive multimedia rights partner for SDSU Athletics, operating locally as SDSU Athletic Partnerships – connected Palomar and SDSU Athletics on the original agreement and continued to work alongside both organizations to grow the partnership to include the jersey patch.

“SDSU is at an exciting inflection point under the leadership of JD and Coach Lewis as the program enters the Pac-12,” said Erik Judson, Co-Founder and CEO at JMI Sports. “We are proud to have brought SDSU Football together with a local brand like Palomar that believes in the future of the program. Palomar has chosen to put that support front and center with a jersey patch that will stand with the Aztecs every game day, while also continuing to build on its commitment to the community.”
