SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis garnered ITA All-Academic Team honors while four Aztecs also received ITA Scholar Athlete distinction, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Monday.
To qualify as an all-academic team, each eligible member of a program must combine for an average team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the current academic year. To receive scholar athlete status, a student needs a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Freshman Finn Willman, sophomores Denis Maijorov and Marc Kleber and senior Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice were each awarded ITA Scholar Athlete accolades. It is the second of Maijorov and Kleber’s careers, and the first for Willman and Gonzalez Fitzmaurice.
