SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis has been named an ITA All-Academic Team with seven Aztecs being recognized as ITA Scholar Athletes, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Monday.

This is the 13th all-academic team distinction for San Diego State in the last 15 years. To qualify, a program must have a team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the current academic year. The Aztecs had one of their strongest years in the classroom, boasting a 3.77 spring semester GPA, which was the highest of any SDSU team.

For a student-athlete to receive scholar athlete status, they must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Seniors Gloria Alogo and Jo-Yee Chan, juniors Jayna Clemens, Vesa Gjinaj and Teja Tirunelveli, as well as sophomore Liisa Varul and freshman Vessa Turley all took home the academic award for their success in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year.
