SAN DIEGO – A program record five members of the San Diego State women’s golf team were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. Stephanie Barbaglia, Emma Delwes, Manon Martin, Emilia Omander and Kylie Phi were all honored for their performance in the classroom.

It was the second time being honored for Barbaglia, Omander and Phi. SDSU beat their previous record of four honorees set last year.

Martin sported an impressive 3.83 cumulative GPA as an aerospace engineering major in her freshman season. Barbaglia (3.54), Delwes (3.87) and Omander (3.78) are all business majors, while Phi is a mechanical engineering major. All five were also named to the Mountain West All-Academic Team.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players To make the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
