SAN DIEGO – Head women’s golf coach Lauren Dobashi has announced the signing of Amelia Garibaldi, Fresno State’s top golfer from last season.

Garibaldi comes to SDSU for her final season after starting every tournament for the Bulldogs over the past three years. She has appeared in 33 tournaments, played 100 rounds and has a career record of 1,728-880-95. In her collegiate career, she has won one tournament, finished in the top three three times, top 10 six times and in the top 20 on 12 occasions.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amelia to the San Diego State women's golf program,” Dobashi said. “Amelia brings proven DI experience, competitive maturity, and the ability to go low in the big moments. She is a steady competitor who will immediately add depth, experience, and leadership to our lineup. She will be a great fit for our team culture, and we are excited for her to join the Aztec family.”

This past season, she had an adjusted average of 73.9 and went 640-272-34. In the fall, she finished in the top 15 in three of her four tournaments and tied for first at The Clash at Boulder Creek with an 11-under-par 205, finishing the tournament with a 68 (-4) and 66 (-6) in her final two rounds. That performance helped her earn Mountain West Golfer of the Month.

In the spring, she had a second-place finish at the Soboda Spring Classic (221, +5) and finished fourth at the Fresno State Classic with an even par 216.

“I chose San Diego State because of the top-notch athletics facilities, beautiful campus, and great coaching staff,” Garibaldi explained.”

As a sophomore, she had three top 20 finishes, and her best performance was once again at The Clash at Boulder Creek when she tied for 14th with a five-under-par 211.

Garibaldi broke onto the scene with a standout freshman season, going 625-265-38 with a 74.3 adjusted average. She had four top 20 finishes, with three of them coming in a row. Her highest finish was a T-3rd at The Causeway Invitational and her lowest score came at The Clash at Boulder Creek (211, -5).

At Lodi High School in Stockton, Calif., Garibaldi was named the 2021-22 Tri-City Athletic League MVP and helped her team go undefeated that season.

Garibaldi is the third transfer to sign with the Aztecs for the 2026-27 season, joining Swedes Fia Lindblom (Texas State University) and Emilia Nordström (Lee University).
