SAN DIEGO – Head women’s golf coach Lauren Dobashi has announced the signing of Fia Lindblom, a Second Team All-Sun Belt selection at Texas State University last season. Over the past three years Lindblom played in 20 tournaments for the Bobcats and finished in the top 10 four times.
“We are very excited to welcome Fia to the Aztec family,” Dobashi said. “There was an instant connection with her, and we knew right away that she would be a great fit for our program. She brings an impressive résumé, including 2026 Second Team All-Sun Belt honors, a season-low round of 66, four-time Junior Golfer of the Year honors, and two Annika Cup appearances. Fia's maturity and team-first mentality will be a tremendous addition to our program. We are excited about the impact she will make both on and off the course.”
This past season as a redshirt sophomore, Lindblom (Gothenburg, Sweden) recorded a 73.9 adjusted average and went 332-238-21 across 27 rounds. She finished in the top 10 twice and took fifth at the Texas State Invitational with a three-under-par 213. On the season, she had nine rounds of even par or better and three in the 60s, highlighted by a career-low 66 in the second round at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai’i.
“I went into the transfer portal looking for a program that is on the rise,” Lindblom explained. “I felt a genuine connection with both Coach Dobashi and Coach Choi from the very first phone call. They are not only extremely professional and passionate about what they do, but it is also clear that they are wholeheartedly investing in their players and are willing to go above and beyond for their players’ best interests. I believe San Diego State is the perfect place to continue to develop as a golfer while also getting the chance to contribute to a team culture built on trust, respect and hard work.”
In the 2024-25 season, Lindblom competed in three tournaments before being sidelined with an injury. She counted towards her team’s score in seven of her eight rounds, had a 72.63 stroke average and led her team in birdies per round (3.25).
As a freshman, she helped Texas State win their first conference championship since the 2016 season. That year, she had a 74.7 adjusted average and two top ten finishes. In the Sun Belt Match Play Championship, she beat the conference’s Player of the Year to help secure the Bobcats a spot in the NCAA regionals.
Lindblom was a four-time Junior Golfer of the Year in Sweden and played in the Annika Cup twice. She won 13 junior tournaments, finished second seven times and landed in the top 10 66 times. She was part of the Swedish National Golf Team Program from 2018-22 and represented Sweden at the Irish Women’s Open and Srixon Winter Open.
Lindblom is the second transfer to sign with the Aztecs for the 2026-27 season, joining fellow Swede Emilia Nordström from Lee University.
