SAN DIEGO – Head women’s golf coach Lauren Dobashi has announced the signing of
Emilia Nordström, a transfer from Lee University.
Nordström, a native of Falsterbo, Sweden, was named to the All-Gulf South Conference (DII) First Team as a sophomore this past season. She averaged 74.7 strokes per 18 holes, had three top-five finishes and five top-20 finishes.
“We are excited to welcome Emilia to San Diego State,” Dobashi said. “Emilia brings valuable collegiate experience from Lee University, where she earned First Team All-GSC honors and helped lead the Lady Flames to a Gulf South Conference title. She has proven she can compete at a high level. Emilia’s maturity, academic discipline, and competitive drive make her a great fit for our team culture, and we are excited to have her join the Aztec family.”
Nordström helped Lee, a DII school in Cleveland, Tennessee, win the Gulf South Championship with a T-5th place finish which earned her All-Tournament Team honors.
Nordström went 547-280-19 on the year, finished the year ranked No. 58 in the nation among DII golfers and had four rounds of even par of better.
Her best performance of the 2025-26 season came in the Savannah Lakes Fall Invitational where she finished fifth with a two-under-par 214, She began that tournament with rounds of 71 (-1) and 69 (-3).
While playing on the Swedish Junior Division Two Tour in 2025, she one tournament win and also had a second-place finish.
“I chose to come to San Diego State because of Coach Lauren,” Nordström explained. “We really connected and I admire her coaching philosophy, work ethic as well as her passion and love for her team. I also chose SDSU because of its strong academic programs and beautiful location. I think it is the right environment for me to grow as both a student and as a golfer.”
