SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s soccer program unveiled its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by nine of 17 matches being played at home.
The Scarlet and Black open up with a pair of exhibition matches this season. The Aztecs will host USC on August 5, followed by a road match at San Diego on August 8. Last season, SDSU faced the same two opponents in its exhibitions, but played USD at home and USC on the road.
San Diego State will open the regular season on the road for the first time since a 2-1 win at Nebraska in 2022, when it heads to La Jolla to take on the UC San Diego Tritons on August 12. The Aztecs and Tritons played a scoreless draw at Snapdragon Stadium last season. The team will wrap up the month with a homestand featuring matches against Portland State on August 16, Washington on August 19 and Pacific on August 27. San Diego State is 1-0-0 against Portland State with a 4-0 home win on September 7, 1997. The Aztecs haven’t faced Washington since a 2-1 win on September 12, 2014, in a match played in Portland, Oregon. SDSU won by a 1-0 score in its lone match against Pacific, coming on September 23, 2005.
SDSU is set to start September on the road, with away matches at Oklahoma State on September 3, Texas Tech on September 6 and Utah Valley on September 12. All three are return trips for matches played on the SDSU Sports Deck the past couple of seasons. Oklahoma State and Utah Valley visited The Mesa in 2024 while the Red Raiders served as the season opener for SDSU a season ago. The final two matches of non-conference play will be back on the SDSU Sports Deck against Pepperdine on September 17 and Northern Colorado on September 20. San Diego State earned a 3-2 victory against the Waves in Malibu last season while this will be the first ever matchup between the Aztecs and Bears.
The Aztecs will begin the Pac-12 era with a home match against Boise State on October 1. The teams played twice last year, including the Mountain West Semifinals, when penalty kicks were required after the teams played to a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes. Then, the Aztecs will travel to San Marcos, Texas, to play Texas State on October 4 and Corvallis, Oregon, to face Oregon State on October 8. The Bobcats will be another new opponent for San Diego State. The Aztecs last played the Beavers in 2009 and 2010, both resulting in draws. Following a home match against Colorado State on October 11, SDSU will head to Pullman, Washington, to play Washington State. San Diego State and Colorado State tied 2-2 in Fort Collins last season, but SDSU picked up a 1-0 win against the Rams in the Mountain West Tournament. The all-time series between San Diego State and Washington State is 3-3. SDSU won the first three matches while the Cougars won the last three. The home slate is rounded out with matches against Fresno State on October 25 and Gonzaga on October 30. The Scarlet and Black tied Fresno State 1-1 in The Valley last season. In the only meeting between the two schools, SDSU cruised to a 4-0 victory against Gonzaga on September 17, 1995, in a match played in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The regular season will conclude on November 5 at Utah State, a team that SDSU is 9-3-3 against all-time with every match coming since 2010.
Following the regular season, the top four teams in the conference will compete in the Pac-12 Tournament, set for either November 11 and 14 or November 12 and 15. The tournament will be played on a campus site and hosted by the team with the highest non-conference RPI this season.
Start times for matches will be announced in the coming weeks.
