EUGENE, ORE. – Jenna Fee Feyerabend wrapped up her final career NCAA Outdoor Championships with a 15th place finish in the heptathlon. Her final day of competition included the long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter run. Feyerabend successfully finished ahead of athletes from large programs such as Oklahoma, Kentucky and Baylor.
The first event of the day was long jump at 2:30 p.m. PST. Feyerabend posted a 5.89m mark on her second attempt of the afternoon after faulting on her first jump. She would secure a 14th place finish in the jumping pits. Following the long jump the athletes competed in the javelin toss. Feyerabend entered the weekend as one of the top throwers in the heptathlon and secured a third-place finish in the shot put earlier in the meet. She would throw the javelin for a mark of 41.25m that earned her seventh place and an additional 629 points. The final event of the meet was the 800-meter run. She claimed fifth place in her heat, posting a final time of 2:20.26.
In total Feyerabend managed 5,709 points, marking the third time this season she eclipsed 5,700 points in the heptathlon. Her 15th place finish will put her in contention for her third-career second team all-American honor. Feyerabend ends the year with an impressive list of accomplishments. This season she secured the all-time Mountain West heptathlon record, the Mountain West Championship heptathlon meet record, her third conference heptathlon gold medal, was named the conference championship Field Performer of the Meet and was selected to the outdoor Mountain West All-Conference team for the fifth time in her career.
