INDIANAPOLIS -- The San Diego State men’s golf team will travel to the Tucson, Arizona, area to compete in the 2026 Marana Regional, May 18-20, as announced Wednesday by the NCAA selection committee. The Aztecs earned the No. 7 seed for their 26th regional appearance in the last 27 tournaments and 29th overall since the regional format was launched in 1989.
SDSU received an at-large bid into the regional after not winning the Mountain West Championship this week, snapping a league-tying record four straight conference titles from 2022-25. San Diego State finished third in the 12-team event at 35-under-par.
Marana, Arizona (Arizona) is one of six regional tournaments that will also be played concurrently in Athens, Georgia (Georgia), Bermuda Run, North Carolina (Wake Forest), Bryan, Texas (Texas A&M), Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State) and Corvallis, Oregon (Oregon State).
The top-five squads and lowest individual not on those teams from the Marana Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, slated for May 29-June 3, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in nearby Carlsbad, California, hosted by Texas.
Arizona, the No. 3 seed in the regional, will play host to the Marana Regional, which features 14 teams, including six conference champions, and five individuals. The teams and individuals will play 18 holes (54 total) on each of the three days at the Gallery Golf Club, following a practice round on Sunday, May 17.
The 14 teams in the Marana Regional in order of seed (with Scoreboard powered by clippd ranking in parenthesis) are Oklahoma State (5), LSU (8), Arizona (18), Alabama (20), Duke (29), Clemson (33), San Diego State (41), Arkansas State (44), West Virginia (55), Florida Gulf Coast (57), St. Mary’s (67), Tarleton State (110), North Dakota State (177) and Iona (216).

SDSU claimed its first-ever NCAA regional crown in 2011, after finishing in the top spot by seven strokes at the No. 2 seed in Tucson, Arizona, followed by runner-up performances at Stanford, California, and New Haven, Connecticut, respectively, in 2012 and 2015. At the 2016 Albuquerque Regional, San Diego State gained the fifth and final spot to the NCAA championship series after defeating Texas A&M on the first hole of a dramatic sudden-death playoff. The Aztecs finished third at the 2021 Kington Springs Regional in Tennessee at 5-under 847 before tying for 25th at the NCAA Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
