COLUMBUS, Ga. -- San Diego State men’s golfer Harry Takis (Brisbane, Australia) has been named to the 2026 Haskins Award presented by Stifel Postseason Watch List, the Haskins Foundation announced Wednesday. Takis is one of 15 players on the postseason watch list for the award, which goes out to the outstanding college golfer.

Takis is coming off a third-place finish at the Mountain West Championship, May 3-5, finishing at 13-under-par.

On the season, Takis is the fourth-ranked player in the latest Scoreboard powered by clippd computer ratings, released Wednesday. He is averaging 69.22 strokes per round across nine tournaments and 27 rounds in 2025-26. The 69.22 is an Aztec single-season record now that he has enough rounds to qualify (27). Out of his nine tournaments this season, he has one victory, two runner-up finishes, five top-5 efforts, six top-10 showings and eight top-20 placings.

With enough rounds to quality (50), Takis has the lowest scoring average in SDSU’s recorded history (since 1993-94) at 70.34 in 62 rounds.

In March, Takis was one of 20 players on the spring watch list. Ten players will make the final watch list on May 22. A player does not need to appear on a previous watch list to be considered for any future watch lists. The 3rd Annual Haskins Honors presentation will take place at The Grand Blanc (adjacent to the 1st green at Omni La Costa) on Wednesday, May 27 for the 10 Finalists, their coach, and their parents. All Division I players, coaches, and golf SIDs are eligible to vote for the Haskins Award. Voting for the 2026 Haskins Award will conclude on Monday, June 1 at the conclusion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championships.

The others on the postseason watch list include Kihei Akina (Brigham Young), Paul Chang (Virginia), Mahanth Chirravuri (Pepperdine), Ryder Cowan (Oklahoma), Tom Fischer (Ole Miss), Frankie Harris (South Carolina), Ben James (Virginia), William Jennings (Alabama), Jackson Koivun (Auburn), Christiaan Maas (Texas), Niall Sheils Donegan (North Carolina), William Sides (SMU), Preston Stout (Oklahoma State) and Tyler Weaver (Florida State).

Takis, Akina and Jennings are the only underclassmen on the postseason watch list.

Beginning in 1971, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top collegiate golfer as voted on by players, coaches, members of the college golf media, and past Haskins Award winners. Past winners of the Haskins Award presented by Stifel have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.
