SAN DIEGO – David Torresani, a 6-2 point guard, signed an athletic aid agreement to compete for the San Diego State men’s basketball program beginning in the 2026-27 school year. The announcement was made by head coach Brian Dutcher on Monday.
Torresani, according to Eurobasket.com, has competed for the last four years for Nutribullet Treviso in Italy’s Lega Basket (LBA) Serie A, where he has appeared in 60 career games, 50 of which have come in the last two. Torresani has posted progressively improved statistics in each of his four seasons, culminating in his 22 games in 2025-26 wherein 18.1 minutes per game he shot 43.6 percent from the floor, including 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 76.9 percent from the line. The native of Milan, Italy averaged 7.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest.
A veteran of international competitions as a member of Italy’s U18 and 20 teams in the last three years, he’s competed in a total of 19 games. Most recently, in an average of 26.1 minutes per game at the 2025-26 FIBA U20 European Championship, he averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds, and his 2.3 steals and assists per game ranked No. 5 and No. 19, respectively, at the event.
Torresani is the second international player, joining Croatia’s Luka Skoric, to sign with San Diego State in the last two weeks. San Diego State has already inked Division I transfers Nick Anderson, Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry and Chance Gladden, and signed freshman Zach White. The Aztecs return Latrell Davis, Elzie Harrington, Thokbor Majak, and Tae Simmons from the 2025-26 roster.
