SAN DIEGO – Luka Skoric, a 6-9 guard/forward who last played with Croatian club KK Cibona, has signed an athletic aid agreement to join the San Diego State men’s basketball program starting in the 2026-27 school year, head coach Brian Dutcher announced on Tuesday.
The Zagreb, Croatia, native competed in 34 contests this season for Cibona, averaging 6.1 points and 3.0 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per game according to EuroBasket. Between games in the Croatian Premijer Liga and the FIBA Europe Cup, Skoric shot 51.0 percent (76-of-149) from the field and 36.2 percent (21-of-58) from beyond the arc this season. Cibona is currently 23-8 and sits in third place in the standings.
Skoric joins Latrell Davis (Leeds, England) as European-born players on the 2026-27 SDSU roster. He also becomes the first Croatian-born Aztec since sharpshooting guard Karlo Kovacic spent the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons on The Mesa. Kovacic listed his favorite player as Drazen Petrovic, who, like Skoric, competed for KK Cibona before coming to the United States.
Skoric is the fourth addition to San Diego State’s roster in recent weeks. He joins transfers Chance Gladden (Boston Univ.), Nick Anderson (Rice) and Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry (Sacramento State), and freshman Zach White, who signed in November, as newcomers to the team. The Aztecs will be returning Elzie Harrington, Tae Simmons, Latrell Davis and Thokbor Majak from the 2025-26 roster.
