SAN DIEGO – The stage is set for the 2026 Mountain West Men’s Tennis Championships and San Diego State is gearing up for its first round matchup on Wednesday. The second-seeded Aztecs will take on the seven seed, Air Force, at 1 p.m. at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.

After wrapping up the regular season on Sunday with a 4-0 shutout victory over New Mexico, the Aztecs finished with an 11-11 overall record and 5-2 in the Mountain West to secure a second place finish.

Playing on the top court in singles, Aleksi Lofman leads the Scarlet and Black with 10 wins this spring, including four against Mountain West opponents. Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice has the second most singles victories with nine on the year.

In doubles competition, freshman William Kleege joins Lofman on the top court. The Aztec duo boasts an 11-2 record in dual matches and 13-3 overall.

Air Force enters the contest with a 9-12 overall record and 2-5 in the league, most recently falling 4-2 against New Mexico.

In the first match between the two teams this season, San Diego State claimed a 4-2 win at home. The Aztecs lead the Falcons 36-3 in the all-time series.

The winner of Wednesday’s opening round will advance to Thursday’s semifinal where they will take on either No. 3 Boise State or No. 6 New Mexico.
