The Aztecs are 9-9 on the season and 3-0 in conference play following 4-3 victories over No. 67 UNLV and Nevada last weekend. Thursday’s match will be a battle for first place against Utah State, who currently sits atop the Mountain West standings.
The Aggies hold a 12-5 overall record and 4-0 in the league. On a five match winning streak, they most recently swept Air Force on the road.
The Broncos are 19-6 on the season and 3-1 in the Mountain West, and have also won five straight. Last time out, they defeated New Mexico 4-3 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Aleksi Lofman and William Kleege continue to lead the way for the Aztecs in doubles competition. The duo is 9-1 on the top court and 11-2 for the year. Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice and Imran Daniel Hazli have also been vital in the team’s success in doubles, amassing a 6-1 record in the second spot.
Gonzalez Fitzmaurice also leads the Scarlet and Black in singles victories with nine in dual competition and 11 overall.
