FORT COLLINS, Colo. – No. 40 San Diego State women’s tennis blanked Colorado State in the team’s final road match of the 2026 campaign on Sunday. The Aztecs improve to 17-3 on the season and 9-1 in conference play, tied for first place with Boise State in the Mountain West standings. The Rams fall to 6-15 overall and 2-8 in the league.
San Diego State came out on top in doubles competition with wins on courts two and three, putting the first point on the board. Gloria Alogo and Liisa Varul first took down Annika Planinsek and Dylan Voeks 6-2 on court two before Jayna Clemens and Teja Tirunelveli clinched the point with a 6-3 victory over Hanna Haber and Diana Lazarazo in the third spot. No. 81 Jo-Yee Chan and Vessa Turley were behind 4-3 against Luana Avelar and Sorcha Caves in the unfinished match on the top court.
Varul was the first to get off the court in singles competition, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Dylan Voeks on court five. Clemens then extended the lead to 3-0 after notching a 6-1, 6-1 win over Caves in the third spot.
Turley was the clincher, capturing the team’s 17th win after defeating Logan Voeks 6-3, 6-2 on the sixth court.
Chan led Avelar 6-2, 5-2 on the top court when the match was called.
Next up, the Aztecs will prepare for their regular season finale against Grand Canyon on April 17 at 11 a.m., following a senior day celebration.
