The Aztecs hold a 13-3 overall record, which is the team’s best start since at least the 1993 season. 5-1 in conference play, they are tied with Boise State for second place in the Mountain West standings.
Ranked 69th in the nation, UNLV (13-2, 6-0 MW) currently sits alone atop the conference with an undefeated 6-0 record. San Diego State will look to grab a share of the No. 1 spot on Thursday.
The Rebels lead the Aztecs 17-25 in the all-time series record. In the last meeting between the two programs on April 17, 2025, which was a senior day battle for the Mountain West regular season championship, San Diego State fought to a 4-3 victory at home to capture its first outright title since 2013.
Nevada is 6-9 on the season and 2-4 in the league. The Wolfpack will face Grand Canyon on Thursday prior to their matchup against the Aztecs on Saturday. San Diego State has a 9-4 advantage in the all-time series, but Nevada took the last contest 4-3 in 2025.
The Aztecs continue to excel in doubles with a 29-7 dual record and 57-19 overall, led by 57th-ranked Jo-Yee Chan and Vessa Turley, who are 23-4 overall, which is the third most doubles victories by an Aztec duo. The pair is 12-2 on the top court so far this spring. On court two, Jayna Clemens and Ninon Martinache boast a 10-2 dual record and 15-3 for the season. Gloria Alogo and Liisa Varul take the third spot for San Diego State, logging seven wins and three losses on court three.
Clemens leads the Scarlet and Black in singles victories, amassing a 10-2 dual record playing on courts three and four. Chan has taken the top spot in every match this spring, collecting eight wins on the year.
Following this weekend’s road trip, the Aztecs will return to The Mesa to take on Wyoming on April 10.
