SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women’s golf team is playing in the Yale Invitational West Monday-Tuesday at the PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course in La Quinta, Calif. Teams will play 36 holes Monday and then the final 18 Tuesday morning.
The 10-team field will feature five teams ranked in the top 50: No. 10 Pepperdine, No. 29 Kansas State, No. 36 Cal State Fullerton, No. 37 Virginia Tech, No. 38 Kansas. Colorado State, Gonzaga, Princeton and the host school Yale will also be competing.
SDSU’s lineup for the tournament will be Manon Martin, Ema Narita, Kylie Phi, Emilia Omander and Stephanie Barbaglia and Emilia Omander. Emma Delwes will be playing as an individual.
Manon Martin (Courbevoie, France) has won Mountain West Freshman of the Week twice and is coming off the best tournament of her young career. At the Causeway Invitational, she shot a career-low one-over-par 217 that featured an opening round three-under-par 69 that included a hole-in-one.
Narita (Tokyo, Japan) leads the Aztecs with a 374-82-14 record and a stroke average of 72.68. This spring, she was co-champion of the Long Beach State Dual match and has two top 20 finishes.
Phi (Fountain Valley, Calif.) has a 320-130-20 record, a 73.42 stroke and three top-11 finishes on the year.
Omander (Cologne, Germany) has started all three competitions this spring and shot an eight-over-par 224 in the last tournament, which tied her career-low 54-hole score.
Barbaglia (Johannesburg, South Africa) has shot between 223 and 225 in each of her last five tournaments. She has started every tournament for the Aztecs since the beginning of 2023-24 season.
Delwes (Verden, Germany) appeared in three tournaments in the fall and shot a career-best five-over-par 221 at the Golf Iconic Classic.
The Nicklaus Tournament Course is 6,304 yards. The Aztecs will start both days with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
The forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures reaching the high 90s.
