SAN DIEGO – San Diego State lacrosse is on the road again, headed to Los Angeles to take on USC in a Wednesday night game beginning at 6 p.m. PT.

The Aztecs hold a 1-3 record following a 15-7 defeat in their first road contest of the season at East Carolina on Saturday. The Trojans are 4-2 on the season with wins over California, #24 Brown, UC Davis and Arizona State.
This will be the 16th meeting between the two programs. USC leads the all-time series 14-1 and currently holds a four-game winning streak. The last time the Aztecs beat the Trojans was in 2021 by a score of 14-13 in overtime.
Through the first four games of the season, Keira Doyle-Odenbach leads the team in goals (10) and draw controls (14). The sophomore midfielder also has four caused turnovers and three assists. Sophomore Mia Maechtel and freshman Barrett Doan are the other leading scorers for San Diego State with nine and seven goals, respectively.
Defensively, sophomore Maya Tillman has led the Aztecs, who rank first in the Big 12 in caused turnovers per game (11.50). The sophomore has forced six turnovers in addition to picking up four ground balls.
Senior Caitlin Boughton has started all four games in the cage, recording 220 minutes, 27 saves off 83 shots faced and 43 goals allowed. She also has nine ground balls, which ties Lilah Turley for the most by an Aztec so far this season.
USC’s Reese Robinson and Kaylee Fravert are the leading scorers for the Trojan offense, each with nine goals and five assists.
Midfielder Anna Regan has been dominant in the draw circle, grabbing 31 draw controls through six games.
Goalkeepers Ellie Thomas and Charlotte Morton have each played significant minutes between the pipes, recording 195 and 165, respectively. Thomas holds a 3-1 record with 27 saves off 93 shots faced and 43 goals allowed.
Following Wednesday’s contest, the Aztecs will return to The Mesa to host No. 17 Penn State on Sunday at noon.
