SAN DIEGOMimi Stoupas, a 2-meter on the No. 13-ranked San Diego State water polo team, was named the Golden Coast Conference (GCC) Player of the Week for the week ending on March 15.

Last week, in four games at the 2026 Aztec Invitational, the native of Melbourne, Australia, shot 50.0 percent, scoring 10 goals on 20 shots, drew 10 exclusions, had five steals and one block. She scored multiple goals and had at least one steal in each contest.

In the team’s game against No. 14 Princeton, the program’s first regular season win against a team ranked higher than themselves since a 12-11 win on March 6, 2021, against then No. 19 Princeton when SDSU was 21st ranked, Stoupas drew a game-high six exclusions, scored twice and had a steal. In the finale on Sunday afternoon against No. 12 Harvard, she led the team with four goals, drew a pair of exclusions and had a steal.

San Diego State went 3-1 at the Aztec Invitational, including victories of 12-10 over No. 14 Princeton, 17-13 against No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer and 15-11 versus Bucknell.

This is Stoupas’ second GCC Player of the Week honor this year, the third of her career, and the third time an Aztec had garnered the distinction in 2026.
