SAN DIEGO – Ema Narita of the San Diego State women’s golf team was named the Mountain West Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Friday morning.
Narita (Tokyo, Japan) had her highest finish and lowest 54-hole score of her career. She shot a six-under-par 210 and tied for second at the Yale Invitational West. She had two rounds under 70 and a tournament-low three total bogeys.
Narita beat two golfers ranked in the top 50, six in the top 100 and 14 in the top 130. She rose 82 spots in the national rankings after this performance.
This is Narita’s first ever Golfer of the Week award. She won the conference’s Freshman of the Week award twice in the spring of 2024.
