SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis is set to kick off its conference schedule this weekend, welcoming Mountain West opponents Fresno State and San Jose State to the Aztec Tennis Center on Friday and Sunday.

Ranked 25th in the nation, San Diego State is 8-1 on the season entering conference play. Last time out, the Aztecs earned a 5-2 win over Cal Poly at home. During the non-conference schedule, the Aztecs collected wins over Point Loma, UC San Diego, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Hawaii, No. 58 Sacramento State, No. 37 San Diego and Cal Poly. Their lone loss was on the road at No. 8 UCLA in January. The Aztecs will face one more non-conference opponent, taking on No. 32 SMU on March 26.
The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 7-5 record, most recently falling 4-0 to Princeton. San Diego State leads Fresno State 15-11 in the all-time series, winning the last three matchups.
San Jose State is 6-3 in the 2026 campaign and will open its conference schedule at Grand Canyon on Friday. The Aztecs have an 8-5 series advantage over the Spartans and have won three straight.
Last season, the Aztecs won their first outright Mountain West regular season championship since 2013 after going 9-1 in conference play and 16-6 overall. They will look to win back-to-back titles in their final year as a part of the Mountain West before joining the Pac 12 at the start of the 2026-27 season.
Following this weekend’s competition, San Diego State will head to Logan, Utah to face Utah State on March 20, followed by a road matchup against Boise State on March 22.
