SAN DIEGO – San Diego State lacrosse is set for its first road contest of the season in Greenville, N.C. where it will take on East Carolina in a 9 a.m. matchup on Saturday.

The Aztecs are 1-2 on the season following a narrow 12-10 defeat by Oregon on Feb. 16 after earning their first win of the 2026 campaign, taking down FDU 15-5.
The Pirates hold a 2-2 record with wins over Queens (15-4) and Elon (12-9) and losses against Coastal Carolina (8-12) and No. 23/24 Duke (10-18).
The two programs have only met on one other occasion in 2025 when the Aztecs scored a goal in the final minute of the game to push past the Pirates in a 17-16 victory at Snapdragon Stadium.
Through the first three games of the season, sophomore attacker Mia Maechtel leads the San Diego State offense with eight goals and four assists, recording a career high three against both California and Oregon. Keira Doyle-Odenbach has also been a leading scorer for the Aztecs, finding the back of the net seven times while adding three assists. The sophomore midfielder also has ten draw controls, which ranks sixth in the Big 12.
On the other end of the field, sophomore Maya Tillman has been a defensive force, causing five turnovers and picking up four ground balls.
Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Boughton has played 163 minutes in the cage, recording 20 saves on 55 shots faced with 28 goals allowed.
Of East Carolina’s 43 goals scored through its first four games, 10 have come from senior midfielder Kayla Wilkes, who also has five assists, nine draw controls, eight ground balls and seven caused turnovers on the season.
Jaime Behar has started in each game for the Pirates, logging 223 minutes with 32 saves off 97 shots faced and 39 goals allowed.
Following Saturday’s game, the Aztecs will look ahead to a 6 p.m. contest at USC on Mar. 4.
