RENO, NEV. – The San Diego State Women’s Track and Field is returning to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center for their third consecutive competition. This time, the Aztecs will be competing in the program’s final Mountain West Indoor Championships hosted by the Nevada Wolf Pack. The meet will last three days, starting on Thursday, February 26 and running through Saturday, February 28.

Highlighting the first day of competition will be SDSU’s USTFCCCA eleventh ranked pole vault squad. Isabella Nilsen enters the weekend as the third seeded athlete with a 4.20m mark. Peyton Bedrosian and Jordan Leveque also own top 10 seed marks. The duo of Emily Manship and Sydney Ash will round out the Aztec’s pole vaulters bringing the Aztec’s total to five competitors. No other Mountain West program has more than three athletes set to vault.

San Diego State will also be sending a strong contingent of sprinters to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, headlined by Aji Mbye. Mbye owns the third fastest seed time in the 60-meter dash and second fastest seed time in the 200-meter dash. Mbye was a member of the 2024 All-Mountain West Indoor team in the 60-meter dash and is poised to contend for a podium finish in both of her events. Joining her in the 60-meters is Mikaela Warr. Warr also owns a top 10 seed time and recently a new personal best at the Battle Born Classic two weeks ago running 7.45. Olivia Hicks will also be poised for a solid weekend as she stands as the Aztec’s second fastest 200-meter dash competitor. Hicks posted a 23.99 performance at the Battle Born Classic as well and, along with Mbye, is the only other Aztec to run a sub-24 second 200m so far this season.

In the jumping pits, Xiamara Young will be the presumed favorite in both the long and triple jumps. Young has been dominant during the indoor season with four first place finishes across three different meets in both events. She moved into third place all-time in SDSU history for the long jump at the MLK Invitational and is the only Mountain West jumper to clear 13.00m in the triple jump. Alyssas Alumbres has also had a strong indoor season culminating in a top five seed for the championship in the triple jump while also posting an indoor personal best of 12.12m at the Battle Born Classic.

Overall San Diego State will send 24 athletes to compete across 10 different events. The Aztec’s will have seven top five seeded times or marks including the third ranked 4x400 meter relay team. All three days of action will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with tomorrow starting at 10:00 a.m. PT with the women’s pentathlon.
