SAN DIEGO – San Diego State Athletics announced Thursday a multi-year partnership with Palomar Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLMR) (“Palomar”), naming the San Diego-based insurer its Official Specialty Insurance Partner and Official Volunteerism Partner. The agreement is part of a first-of-its-kind, citywide partnership that also includes the athletic departments at UC San Diego and the University of San Diego (USD), uniting San Diego’s three primary college sports programs under a single corporate partnership.

“We are excited to partner with Palomar to sharpen our focus on volunteering within the San Diego community,” said John David Wicker, Director of Athletics at SDSU. “By leveraging the leadership, teamwork, and resilience skills they have learned from years of being an athlete, our student-athletes can give back through these worthwhile service partners while growing into more well-rounded pillars of the community.”

At the heart of the agreement are Days of Service, a series of programs in which SDSU’s 500+ student-athletes join forces with their peers at UC San Diego and USD to tackle pressing community needs. By creating opportunities for cross-campus engagement, student-athletes are empowered to drive a broader impact in San Diego with community service partners, including:

* Positive Coaching Alliance: After completing leadership and coaching training, student-athletes will lead sports clinics for children, providing mentorship while teaching teamwork and sportsmanship.

* Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank: Student-athletes will volunteer to sort and distribute meals, supporting families facing food insecurity across the county.

* Surfrider Foundation: Teams will participate in hands-on beach cleanups, removing debris along San Diego's coastline while educating local youth on ocean conservation and sustainable practices.

* Rob Machado Foundation: Participants will help distribute reusable water bottles to elementary and middle school students, delivering interactive lessons on recycling, water conservation, and environmental responsibility.

* San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House: Student-athletes will prepare home-cooked meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, providing comfort and support to children and families during treatment.

“Palomar is proud to serve as the first Founding Partner of the One San Diego platform,” said Mac Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of Palomar. “This unique partnership reflects our deep commitment to SDSU Athletics and to supporting the development, success, and service of local student-athletes.”

The partnership combines these community engagement initiatives with integrated visibility at SDSU Athletics’ marquee events, including special activations at Aztec Football and Men’s Basketball games, with opportunities for its student-athletes to contribute to initiatives that strengthen the San Diego community.

Facilitated by JMI Sports – the exclusive multimedia rights partner for SDSU Athletics, in addition to the athletic departments at UC San Diego and USD – this marks the first Founding Partner agreement under its new One San Diego platform. One San Diego provides corporate partners a consistent, market-wide approach to engage with San Diego’s college athletics programs, while creating incremental value for each university. The platform works alongside existing single-school partnerships, offering SDSU Athletics an additional avenue to connect with partners.

“The Aztec brand is powerful and far reaching in the San Diego region,” said Erik Judson, Co-Founder and CEO at JMI Sports. “While SDSU Athletics has seen tremendous success, this agreement with Palomar showcases how we can expand their reach into the community and continue developing Aztec student-athletes into leaders beyond gameday.”
