SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State Athletics, on Wednesday, announced the launch of The IMPACT, a fundraising campaign designed to support the future of the Aztecs men’s basketball program through enhanced recruiting, development, and retention of student-athletes.

The campaign reflects the evolving landscape of college basketball and the need for continued investment to sustain the competitive success we have enjoyed in the last 20 years, including playing in the national championship game in 2023. Contributions directly support program resources, while reinforcing the program’s commitment to excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.

The IMPACT campaign is anchored by an annual $1 million leadership gift from Aztec for Life Chase Fisher, who has committed to renewing his gift in each of the next five seasons. His lead gift provides a strong foundation for the campaign and confirms confidence in the direction of the program.

“From the moment I stepped onto campus, I’ve known that Aztec Basketball is built on something special, a foundation of toughness, belief, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” Head Coach Brian Dutcher said. “The IMPACT campaign is about investing in the future of our program and supporting what matters most in today’s college game: recruiting, developing, and retaining outstanding student-athletes who represent San Diego State the right way.”

Dutcher added that the collective strength of Aztec Nation continues to drive the program’s success.

“Just like a sold-out Viejas Arena when we come together as one Aztec Nation, individual gifts compound into a collective impact,” Dutcher said. “Every contribution helps ensure we continue to compete at the highest level while empowering our student-athletes on and off the court.”
