SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s golf team will kick off their spring season with a one round dual match against Long Beach State Sunday morning at the Golf Club. The first tee time is at 7:40 a.m.
The Aztecs closed out the fall season with a pair of strong performances. They placed 10th out of 19 in New Mexico State’s Golf Iconic Classic with a seven-over-par 871, the team’s lowest score in two years, and then closed out the year with an eighth-place finish (out of 19) at the competitive Rainbow Wahine Classic.
SDSU’s lineup for the match will be Ema Narita, Stephanie Barbaglia, Kylie Phi, Emilia Omander and Manon Martin. Emma Delwes will be playing as an individual.
Narita (Tokyo, Japan) led the Aztecs in the fall with a 274-55-10 record and a stroke average of 72.75. She closed out the fall season with a T-6th finish (out of 112) with a four-under-par 212 that featured a career-best 67 first round.
Barbaglia (Johannesburg, South Africa) had a consistent fall, shooting between a 72 and 76 in her last 10 rounds. She has started every tournament for the Aztecs since the beginning of 2023-24 season.
Phi (Fountain Valley, Calif.) had a 237-90-12 record in the fall with a 73.50 stroke average. She tied for 6th (out of 103) at the Golf Iconic Classic with a career-best four-under-par 212 that included a career-low four-under-par 68 opening round.
Omander (Cologne, Germany) will be making her first start of the 2025-26 season. She played in eight tournaments as a freshman and had her best showing at the San Diego State Classic with an eight-over-par 224 (T-27th).
Freshman Manon Martin (Courbevoie, France) played in two tournaments in the fall, averaging 77.3 strokes per 18 holes.
Delwes (Verden, Germany) appeared in three tournaments in the fall and shot a career-best five-over-par 221 at the Golf Iconic Classic.
The Grand Golf Club in Del Mar is one of California’s premier private golf clubs and plays 6,294 yards and as a par 72.
The forecast calls for ideal conditions with sunny skies and temperatures reaching the low 70s.
