SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis has a busy weekend on deck, playing three matches on the road beginning with No. 4 Stanford at 2 p.m. PT on Thursday, followed by matchups against No. 16 California on Friday and Santa Clara on Sunday.

The Aztecs are 1-1 headed into their stint in the Bay Area after opening the spring season in a doubleheader against No. 19 USC and UC San Diego, sweeping the Tritons and falling 4-0 to the Trojans.
Stanford enters the match with a 1-0 record, having shut out Saint Mary’s 4-0 in its season opener on Tuesday. Last year, the Cardinal made a deep run to the Final Four, falling to Wake Forest in the NCAA Semifinals. Head Coach Paul Goldstein returned six players to the 2026 roster, which currently ranks fourth in the nation.
2-0 on the season, California sits at 15th in the ITA national rankings with 6-1 victories over Hawai’i and Gonzaga. Prior to their matchup with the Aztecs, the Bears will compete against Cal Poly at 10 a.m. on Friday. Cal is coming off a 19-5 2025 campaign, which ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Santa Clara is gearing up to open its season on Saturday, facing UC Davis on the road before hosting the Aztecs on Sunday morning. In 2025, the Broncos went 15-9 overall, and 5-2 in the WCC.
Following the three-match swing, San Diego State will return to The Mesa for its home opener, hosting Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m. on Jan. 25.
