SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s basketball team (9-3, 3-0) beat Air Force (7-6, 1-2) 62-51 inside Viejas Arena Wednesday afternoon for their fifth win in a row.
The Aztecs held the Falcons to 35 percent shooting from the field and 18 percent (3-17) from the deep while controlling the glass and the paint.
“Any win in this conference is great for us,” Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson said after the game. “We knew this was going to be a hard-fought battle and I’m really proud of what we were able to accomplish.”
SDSU shot 60 percent in the first quarter but were plagued by turnovers and only led by four after the first quarter. The Aztecs then began the second quarter on a 9-0 run only to see Air Force counter with a 10-1 run, fueled by a 1-for-11 shooting stretch for SDSU.
The Aztecs closed out the third quarter on a 13-2 run and led by as much as 19 points in the fourth quarter.
SDSU had five players score between eight and 12 points and were led by Nala Williams’ 12. Kaelyn Hamilton had 10 points on an efficient 5-for-6 shooting and had a sequence where she scored four points in six seconds after stealing an inbounds pass after a make.
Air Force was led by Milahnie Perry’s 18 points.

Dating back to last season, the Aztecs have won their last 11 games against Mountain West opponents.
