SAN DIEGO – San Diego State Track & Field has officially announced their schedule for the upcoming 2026 Indoor season. The Aztecs will compete in five meets across the west coast before wrapping the season up at the programs final Mountain West Championships and NCAA Championships.

The first contest of the new year will be the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational hosted by New Mexico beginning on January 23. The Aztecs last competed in this race to kickoff the 2024 season. The 2024 rendition of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational was a strong showing for the team highlighted by Aji Mbye securing a pair of third place finishes in both the 60m and 200m sprints. Charlize James also had a great performance, claiming second place in the 60m hurdles while finishing as the top collegiate athlete in said event.

After their trip to Albuquerque, the Aztecs will head north for a two-day, two-meet trip in Seattle as the University of Washington will host both the UW Invitational on January 30 and Mile City on January 31. The team has experience racing at Dempsey Indoor having competed there twice last season. Anna Mager (600m), Vanessa Cabello (3,000m), Emily Van Valkenburg (3,000m & mile) and Isabella Fauria (mile) all posted top 10 program performances in their respective races in Seattle in 2025.

The regular Indoor season will conclude with a pair of meets at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center starting with Wolf Pack Classic & Combined Events on February 5-February 7 and followed by the Battle Born Classic starting on February 13. San Diego State should be very familiar competing in Reno having raced at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center twice last season. Fourteen different Aztecs claimed top 10 finishes across seven different events the last time the program competed at a meet hosted by the Wolf Pack.

The Indoor portion of the season will conclude with the Mountain West Championships that will take place between February 27-28 and will be hosted by Nevada. The NCAA Indoor Championships will see SDSU travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to the Randal Tyson Track Center on March 13.
