SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s soccer had three players named to All-Mountain West teams, the league announced Monday. Grace Goins and Katie Senn each made the All-Mountain West Second Team while Victoria Miller earned a spot on the Mountain West All-Newcomer Team.

A senior defender, Goins anchored an Aztecs defense that has tallied seven shutouts this season. While she has twice been named to the Mountain West Preseason Watch List, including this season, Goins is making her first appearance on an all-conference team for her play on the field. An extremely reliable presence in the SDSU backfield, she started and played every minute of every match across the first three seasons of her collegiate career. This year, Goins started every match and left the field for just 11:19 on the season, coming in the second match of the season, a win over Cal State Bakersfield. Offensively, Goins had an assist on Miller’s match-tying goal at Pepperdine. She was also named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week on September 22 following a pair of shutouts against Nevada and Hawai’i.

Senn, a native of Oakland, California, dished out eight assists this season to lead the team and tie for the most in the Mountain West. The Mountain West Preseason Watch List selection assisted on Victoria Miller’s game-winning goal against Cal State Bakersfield on August 17 before consecutive three-point performances including her first two career goals in wins at Pepperdine and against UC Riverside. Senn’s final five assists came against Mountain West teams, in matches against Nevada, Colorado College, at UNLV, against Boise State and at Colorado State.

In her first season on The Mesa after transferring from Ohio State, Miller made an immediate impact. Her five goals tied for the team lead with Alexis Leath. Miller scored SDSU’s first three goals of the season. Her goal against Cal State Bakersfield on August 17 lifted the Aztecs past the Roadrunners. In a big road match at Pepperdine on September 11, San Diego State trailed 2-0 before Miller had a brace to tie the match at two, which the Aztecs eventually won on Senn’s goal. Miller scored in each of the ensuing two matches, a pair of 4-0 wins over UC Riverside and Nevada. In conference play, she had an assist on Emma Fuller’s goal against Boise State on October 16.

Fourth-seeded San Diego State will battle top-seeded host Boise State in the Mountain West Semifinals at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT on Wednesday. The winner advances to the Mountain West Championship Final at the same time on Saturday. The entire tournament is being held at Boas Soccer Complex in Boise, Idaho, and broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
