SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis continued its split weekend on Saturday, with Aztecs competing at both the Jack Kramer Classic in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. and the Hagedorn Hidden Duals, hosted by the University of San Diego at the Hogan Tennis Center. The four Aztecs competing at the Jack Kramer Club downed UCLA while those playing at USD faced players from Arizona and LSU.

In Rancho Palos Verdes, San Diego State took both doubles matches over the Bruins. Aleksi Lofman and Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice downed Gianluca Ballotta and Bengt Reinhard 6-4. William Kleege and Denis Maijorov earned a victory of the same score over Andrei Crabel and a Cassius Chinlund. In singles competition, Gonzalez Fitzmaurice defeated Ballotta 6-3, 6-4. Maijorov fell 2-6, 0-6 to Chinlud while Kleege retired his match against Crabel at 3-6, 4-2. Lofman then clinched a victory for the Scarlet and Black with a 4-6, 6-4 [12-10] tiebreak win.

Over at the Hogan Tennis Center, Lars Johann and Imran Daniel Hazli came up short 3-6 in their doubles matchup against Rudy Ceccon and Alessio Vasquez. Competing in a split team with USD’s Timo Barthes, Brock Anderson fell 4-6 to Arizona’s Oskar Jansson and Matthias Uwe Kask. In singles play, Anderson battled LSU’s Sasa Markovic in three sets, but was tripped up 6-3, 4-6, 4-6. Johann came up short 5-7, 2-6 to LSU’s Ceccon and Hazli fell 4-6, 3-6 against Arizona’s Cole Stelse.
