SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State has announced its gameday promotions for Saturday’s game against the visiting Broncos from Boise State. The game is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
Saturday’s game is primed to be a showdown of the top two programs in the Mountain West Conference with the winner claiming lone possession of first place. In keeping with the Aztec’s season long recognition of the United States Armed Forces, SDSU is proud to offer its thanks to a group of donors who generously provided nearly 3,000 free tickets to be distributed to local members of the military.
The River Block Party, presented by Snapdragon, will open at 2:30 p.m. Other activations at the block party include a Kids Zone with a prize wheel, temporary tattoos, food and beverage options, and big screen TVs with other college football games playing. Live music will start at 4:30 p.m. as the Block Party will keep the party going until 7:00 p.m. For San Diego State students Free “Danger Zone” shirts will be available while supplies last for the first 1,000 students inside the North gate.
The Warrior Walk will begin at 5:15 p.m., offering fans the perfect opportunity to cheer on the team as they exit the buses and walk into Snapdragon Stadium where they will gear up to take on the visiting Broncos! Fans can mingle with the San Diego State spirit squads, including cheerleaders, dance team and band, before watching the Aztecs get ready to do battle inside the stadium.
Halftime of Saturday’s game will feature an aerial drone show conducted by Sky Elements. Sky Elements is the largest drone light show provider in the United States, orchestrating some of the largest known drone shows in the world. Sky Elements has worked with Major League Baseball (MLB), Disney Studios, Marvel, Seattle Seahawks and Coca-Cola, among many other renowned organizations. These shows serve as a contemporary alternative to traditional fireworks displays, offering a unique, customizable, and eco-friendly form of entertainment.
San Diego State football is proud to announce Chad Woolsey as this week’s Honor Warrior. Woolsey was a two-time letter winner at San Diego State, helping the Aztecs to a 10-win season in 2017 and bowl games in both seasons. Woolsey appeared in 27 games over his career with five starts as a senior at fullback, while playing on special teams as well. He ran for 41 yards on eight carries for his Division I career after playing his first year at Santa Barbara City College.
