SPRINGFIELD, ORE. – San Diego State Cross Country is primed to compete in their third meet of the year as they travel to the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield, Oregon to race in the Bill Dellinger Invitational. The 2025 season marks the third consecutive year the Aztecs will see action at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. In 2024 San Diego State secured a 10th place finish as a team while being led by Vanessa Cabello, Emily Van Valkenburg and Samantha Wood. This time out the Aztecs will face a strong field featuring nationally ranked No. 4 Oregon as well as UCLA, UC Irvine, Oregon State and University of California, Berkeley, all of which rank among the top 15 in the NCAA West Region.
Last Time Out
- The Aztecs raced, most recently, at the UC Riverside Invitational on September 27 with nine athletes competing.
- All five freshmen competed in their first collegiate six-kilometer course with Emilia Greenway posting the top time amongst all newcomers (21:41.0).
- Emily Van Valkenburg was the top overall Aztec at Riverside finishing with a time of 21:11.0.
Individual Notes
- Vanessa Cabello was the top Aztec at the 2024 Bill Dellinger Invitational. She completed the six-kilometer course in 21:23.70.
- Emily Van Valkenburg and Samantha Wood also posted sub-21:35.0 final times at the 2024 Bill Dellinger Invitational.
- Presley Bennett made her 2025 season debut at the UC Riverside Invitational posting a final time of 22:24.8 across six kilometers.
- This meet will mark the second consecutive meet the Aztecs will compete against both UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
