SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s basketball program has released their schedule for the 2025-26 season. The non-conference slate is highlighted by games against reigning Big Ten champ UCLA (in Anaheim), two games in the Bahamas and a game at Kansas State.
Single game tickets, which will go on sale Oct. 23, can be purchased for as little as $6 while season tickets can be purchased for $60.
The Aztecs open the season Nov. 3 against UCLA in the inaugural Orange County Hoops Classic, played at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The Bruins went 34-3 last season, earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Final Four where they lost to UConn, the eventual national champion. They return four starters including center Lauren Betts who was named the national Defensive Player of the Year last season. This is the 31st meeting all-time between the two programs, but the first since 2013.
SDSU will then play their next four games at home beginning with their season opener November 8 when the Aztecs will unveil their 2025-26 Mountain West Tournament championship banner before playing Cal State San Marcos. SDSU opened the year against the Cougars last season and won 76-48.
The Aztecs host CSUN Nov. 12, who they are 10-5 against all-time, and then Cal State Bakersfield Nov. 15. SDSU beat the Roadrunners 88-46 last year.
On Nov. 19 San Diego State hosts Santa Clara for their first of two Field Trip games. This will be just the fifth matchup all-time against the Broncos.
The Aztecs will then head to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis where they will play Maryland East Shore Nov. 22 and Penn State Nov. 24. This will be SDSU’s second game against a Big Ten team in November. The Aztecs beat Wisconsin in Cancun, Mexico last year.
SDSU’s last non-conference home game is against Pacific on Dec. 7. This will be their first matchup against the Tigers since they were in the Big West together in 1990.
The Aztecs will close out non-conference play at Kansas State Dec. 10. The Wildcats won 28 games last year and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
For the first time in league history, teams will play 20 conference games which coincides with the addition of Grand Canyon. The Aztecs will play every Mountain West team twice except for New Mexico (home only) and Utah State (road only).
SDSU added four transfers from other Mountain West schools: Sofia Kelemeni (San Jose State), Maria Konstantinidou (Fresno State), CJ Latta (Utah State) and Kennedy Lee (Nevada).
With the expansion to 20 conference games, the Aztecs will play two Mountain West games before Christmas, starting with a Dec. 17 game at Fresno State and then a Dec. 20 home game vs. Boise State. The Aztecs have beaten the Bulldogs six times in a row and the Broncos three straight.
Following a 10-day break for the holidays, SDSU will host Air Force on Dec. 31. The Aztecs are 40-16 all-time vs. the Falcons.
On Jan. 3, the Aztecs will play at Wyoming in a rematch of last year’s triple overtime Mountain West championship game.
On Jan. 7, SDSU will host Mountain West newcomer Grand Canyon, before hitting the road for their lone game against Utah State (Jan. 10). This will be SDSU’s first ever meeting with Grand Canyon and the Aztecs have won eight straight against the Aggies.
The Aztecs host New Mexico Jan. 14 for their second Field Trip game. SDSU went 2-1 against the Lobos last year and ended their season in the Mountain West tournament quarterfinals.
SDSU then heads to UNLV Jan. 17. The Rebels have won the last four Mountain West regular season championships, but the Aztecs won two out of three against them last year, including a 71-59 win in the Mountain West Tournament semifinals.
Following a midweek bye, SDSU will host San Jose State on Jan. 24, who the Aztecs are 30-11 against all-time. They will then head to Colorado State (Jan. 28).
The Aztecs host Nevada on Jan. 31, who they’ve beaten five of the last six meetings.
The back half of the conference schedule is Grand Canyon (Feb. 4), San Jose State (Feb. 7), Colorado State (Feb. 11), Nevada (Feb. 14), UNLV (Feb. 18), Fresno State (Feb. 21), Boise State (Feb. 25), Wyoming (Feb. 28) and Air Force (March 3).
The Mountain West Tournament runs March 7-10 and will once again be held at UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center. The top four seeds, instead of five, will receive a bye to the quarterfinals.
This is San Diego State’s last year in the Mountain West before moving to the Pac-12 for the 2026-27 season.
The Aztecs won 25 games last year and have won 70 over the past three years which matches their highest total over a three-year span in program history. They won the Mountain West Tournament last year to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
