ARLINGTON, Texas – San Diego State Men’s Soccer’s Baptiste Boit was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Boit (Clermont-Ferrand, France) scored the game-winning goal in last night’s 1-0 win at Utah Valley, which vaulted the Aztecs into first place in the WAC with one match remaining.
A center back, Boit helped the Aztecs shutout the Wolverines who entered the match leading the conference in goals per game, points, assists and shots on goal per game.
Boit’s three goals on the year are third on the team and five of his nine shots have been on frame.
The Aztecs close out the regular season Saturday night when they host California Baptist, who has the highest RPI in the WAC. With a win, they will clinch their second straight WAC regular season championship. Admission to the match is free.
