SAN DIEGO – A year after finishing with a 3-9 record, San Diego State became bowl eligible in its seventh game of the 2025 season on Saturday with a victory at Fresno State. It is the first time the Aztecs have become bowl eligible since 2022, but the 14th time since the 2010 campaign.
SDSU has played in 12 bowl games since 2010, tied for the 20th most in the country. The only teams with more bowl appearances since 2010 other than San Diego State are Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Wisconsin, Boise State, Notre Dame, LSU, Oklahoma State, Brigham Young, Michigan, Louisville, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Washington, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State.
The Aztecs (6-1, 3-0 MW) could be eligible to compete in the College Football Playoff and its bowl games based on seeding, along with nine bowl games. Those bowl games include LA Bowl hosted by Gronk on Dec. 13, the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 22, Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl on Dec. 23, Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl on Dec. 24, SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on Dec. 26, Rate Bowl on Dec. 26, Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl on Dec. 27, Isleta New Mexico Bowl on Dec. 27 and the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Jan. 2.
