SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State Track and Field is excited to announce that the program will host the annual Red-Black All-Comers Meet this December as key piece of the 2025-2026 USATF San Diego-Imperial Summer Nights Track and Field Series. The event will take place on December 6, 2025, at the Choc Sportsman Oval on the Aztrack Sports Deck located at Hardy Ave. & 55th St. Registration is open to all ages including Paralympians with a $20 registration fee allowing for unlimited events! Registration will open on October 27.
The meet will kick off at 10 a.m. with field events including the “Arnie Robinson” long jump, “Willi Banks” triple jump, high jump, discus, shot put and javelin. Pole vaulters will have two divisions available to them with both an open pole vault and elite pole vault event. Running events will also begin at 10 a.m. with a SDSU Athletic Department Staff Relay kicking off the action! From there the meet will being with the men’s and women’s 4x100 meters relays. Other running events will include the “Mark Begler” 1000m run, “Toni Campbell” 60m hurdles, 300m dash, 60m dash, 600m run, 150m dash, the “Thom Hunt” 5000m run and finally the men’s and women’s 4x400 meters relays. Please note that events will follow a rolling schedule and all listed times set to approximate starting times.
Notable changes from the 2024 Red-Black meet include the following:
- There will be no weight throw this year. The shot put, discus and javelin will still be available to compete in.
- There will be no 15-minute break in the schedule this year.
- There will be two pole vault divisions available for athletes, an open section and an elite section.
- The 1000m, 5000m and javelin throw will be combined with both the men and women competing at the same time.
- Seeding in sprint events will be set from fastest times to slowest times. Field events will be seeded from top to bottom.
- The 5000m race is set to replace the 3000m race. The 4x100m relay is set to replace the 4x200m relay.
- Paralympic/ Adaptive Track and Field Athletes are encouraged to participate!
- The schedule has been expanded to accommodate the sprint events including the 60m, 150m and 300m races.
General Meet Information
- Spectator admission is free. Vehicle parking is available in Parking Structure (PS) 7, located directly underneath the track. Parking will require a permit purchased by the hour or for the day. Instructions to secure parking permits will be listed below.
- The competition will include Fully Automatic Timing (FAT) with wind readings for sprints and horizontal jumps. Throwers (especially masters) must bring their own implements.
- Four horizontal jumps/throws will be allowed per entrant.
- Only ¼" (7 mm) pyramid spikes will be allowed. No needle or Christmas tree spikes allowed.
Purchasing an SDSU Parking Pass
Pay at the kiosk pay station located in Parking Structure 7, on level 2. Should you come into the parking structure from 55th Street, you will be entering on the 2nd level. If you enter the structure from Montezuma, you will be entering in the south entrance which is on level 1. You will need to enter your license plate, as your plate will serve as your permit. Cost is $3 per hour for 1-4 hours or $15 for 5-10 hours. If you pay by credit card instead of cash (no change given), the kiosk can send you a reminder text to extend your time for an additional $0.25 and at the rate of $3/hr. You can choose to print a receipt. The receipt does not need to be displayed.
