SAN DIEGO – San Diego State’s Jo-Yee Chan is gearing up for the singles semifinals at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships after making it through the quarterfinals on Sunday. The senior picked up her fourth win of the weekend, taking down USC’s Eugenia Zozaya Menendez in a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 contest to earn her spot in Monday’s semifinal.
Chan will be back in action tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Aztec Tennis Center, where she will face USC’s Jana Hossam Salah.

Chan also appeared in Sunday’s doubles quarterfinal, playing alongside freshman Vessa Turley. The Aztecs came up short 8-4 to Daniela Borruel and Lily Fairclough out of USC.
Ninon Martinache competed in singles as well, but the senior fell 6-3, 6-2 against Pepperdine’s Anastasiia Grechkina.
