SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s soccer team (6-2-5, 2-0-3 MW) returns home this week for a pair of conference matches. The Aztecs will host Boise State (6-3-6, 4-0-2 MW) at 7 p.m. on Thursday night and Utah State (5-5-4, 2-1-2 MW) at noon on Sunday. Sunday’s match will appear on the Mountain West Network.

Last week, the Aztecs extended their unbeaten streak to ten matches, playing to a 2-2 draw at UNLV on Thursday night before winning 3-2 at San Jose State on Sunday. Mia Lane and Alexys Ocampo scored against the Rebels and Katie Senn had an assist while Mia Hambro Svendsen, Ocampo and Emma Fuller scored against the Spartans with assists from Lily Boudet, Eva Vespa and Alexyz Nakamoto.

San Diego State is one of 18 teams in the nation to be undefeated against opponents outside the top 25 in RPI (6-0-5). SDSU is one of 12 teams with an active undefeated streak in double figures and one of only four squads to do both along with No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 6 Memphis and No. 24 West Virginia.

First-place Boise State started the year with a pair of ties before two wins and three losses. The Broncos are undefeated with four wins and four ties in their last eight matches. BSU is 2-1-1 against common opponents with SDSU with wins over San Jose State and Fresno State, a tie against Colorado College and a loss against Cal State Bakersfield. The Aztecs beat Cal State Bakersfield and San Jose State and tied Colorado College and Fresno State.

San Diego State has an 11-10 record against Boise State all-time with a 4-4 mark when the teams face off in America’s Finest City. The Aztecs have won the last three regular season meetings in San Diego, coming in 2020-21 (3-1), 2021 (2-0) and 2023 (1-0). The Broncos won 2-0 in Boise last season and 3-2 in the Mountain West Semifinals.

Utah State doesn’t have consecutive wins or losses this year and only had back-to-back ties once in August. The Aggies and Aztecs both fell against Texas Tech in non-conference play. In conference matches, both teams tied Colorado College and Utah State beat Fresno State, who the Aztecs tied.

The Aztecs are 9-2-4 all-time against Utah State. SDSU is 4-1-2 when facing the Aggies in San Diego including a 2-1 win at home in 2023. USU won 5-1 in Logan last season.

Following this week’s action, San Diego State has three matches left in the regular season. The Aztecs play their final road match at Colorado State at 3 p.m. PT on Thursday, October 23. SDSU will return home for its last two matches against Wyoming at noon on Sunday, October 26, and against New Mexico at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 30. The Colorado State and Wyoming matches will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and admission to the Wyoming and New Mexico matches is free.
