SAN DIEGO – Four Aztecs are headed to Las Vegas to represent San Diego State women’s tennis at the second annual Mountain West Fall Qualifier, taking place Oct. 2-6 at the Darling Tennis Center. Jo-Yee Chan, Ninon Martinache, Gloria Alogo and Vessa Turley will each compete in singles and doubles.

In just the second year of this new championship format, each NCAA Division 1 AQ-eligible conference hosts a tournament to designate one singles player and one doubles pair on both the men’s and women’s side to represent them in the ITA Conference Masters tournament, which is one of four qualifying pathways to this year’s NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.

The opening day of competition will get underway at 3 p.m. PT, beginning with doubles. Martinache and Alogo will pair up to take on Grand Canyon’s Isabella Crossman and Dania Deaifi while Turley and Chan go head-to-head with Natalie Paterova and Terezia Mlkva out of Utah State.

Singles competition is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT:
Ninon Martinache (SDSU) vs. Terezie Mlkva (Utah State)
Gloria Alogo (SDSU) vs. Silver Biklsma (Wyoming)
Vessa Turley (SDSU) vs. Marlene Foerster (Nevada)
