Aztecs Fall at ITA All-American Championships

After combining for four victories in the first two days of the event, San Diego State’s Aleksi Lofman and Lars Johann were downed in doubles competition on Monday afternoon.

TULSA, Okla. – After combining for four victories in the first two days of the event, San Diego State’s Aleksi Lofman and Lars Johann were downed in doubles competition on Monday afternoon, bringing their stay at the ITA All-American Championships to an end.

Coming off a 6-2, 7-5 win over Yair Sarouk and Kabeer Kapasi of Rice, the Aztecs faced SMU’s’ Trevor Svajda and Georgi Georgiev in the pre-qualifying quarterfinal. Lofman and Johann battled, but ultimately came up short 6-3, 6-2 to the Mustangs.

Next up, the Aztecs will head to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Fall Qualifier, beginning on Oct. 2.
