SAN DIEGO – Aleksi Lofman and Lars Johann will represent San Diego State men’s tennis at this year’s ITA All-American Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center beginning on Saturday. Lofman will get underway in the singles Pre-Qualifying Round at 7 a.m. PT, followed by Johann at 9 a.m. The Aztecs will then pair up in doubles, competing at 1:30 p.m. PT.
The nine-day event has a draw size of 160 in the Pre-Qualifying Round and 64 in the Main Draw. In doubles, the draw size is 32. From this, ten singles players will go on to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, while four doubles teams qualify.
Lofman, a junior transfer out of LSU, is set to make his Aztec debut, taking on Georgia Tech’s Gianluca Carlini on Saturday morning. This will also be Johann’s first appearance in scarlet and black. The senior transfer from Nebraska will face Mehdi Sadaoui of Miami.
The duo will then compete against NC State’s William Manning and Charlie Camus in the doubles round of 32.
