SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s basketball team will be playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis Women’s Classic in the Bahamas Nov. 22-24. The Aztecs will play Maryland East Shore on Nov. 22 and then Penn State on Nov. 24.
Maryland East Shore went 14-17 last year and 8-6 in the MEAC. This will be SDSU’s first time playing a school in the MEAC.
The Aztecs have played Penn State twice before, losing to them in 1997 and 1998. This will be SDSU’s second straight year playing a Big Team, the Aztecs beat Wisconsin in the Cancun Challenge last season.
The Aztecs last played in the Bahamas in 2017 when they played in the Junkanoo Jam. This is SDSU’s second straight season playing in an international multi-team event. The Aztecs went 2-1 at the Cancun Challenge last year.
This showcase is played in the Imperial Arena; a grand ballroom transformed into a truly unique basketball venue at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. Princeton is also playing in the event, although they will not face the Aztecs. Game times and broadcast information will be released at a later date.
