TUCSON, Ariz. – The first tournament of the San Diego State men’s tennis fall season is in the books as the Aztecs wrapped up the final day of the Wildcat Invite at the University of Arizona on Sunday. Brock Anderson and Denis Maijorov combined for two wins on the day, adding to a total of six on the weekend.
In doubles, Anderson and Maijorov made their first appearance as a team, taking down Daniels Tens and Kai Mills of Northern Arizona by a score of 6-4.
Anderson went on to take his singles match in straight sets, earning a 7-5, 6-2 victory over New Mexico State’s Lance Urlaub.
Maijorov came up short in a matchup against Vitality Horovoy of UNLV, falling 6-2, 6-4.
Next up on the schedule is the ITA All-American Championships, hosted in Tulsa, Okla. Between Sep. 20-28, followed by the Mountain West Fall Qualifier in Las Vegas, beginning on Oct. 2.
